The best way to discuss the mysterious woman known as Cyndane is to look at her one and only appearance in the books. "a short young woman with loing silver hair and vivid blue eyes, stared about her coldly, hardly more than glancing in Graendal's direction. By her demeanor, she might have been a Prime Counselor force to endure the company of common laborers and intent on ignoring their existence. What kind of girl is Cyndane to treat one of the "Chosen" like this? Cyndane goes further making arrogant demands and questions of Graendal. For instance: "Do you know that Sammael is dead?" The abrupt question is most certainly rude to one of the Chosen what is more it shows she has knowledge even Graendal does not! And again Cyndane's arrogance shows itself when she makes the haughty statement: "'She told you my name. That is all you need to know.' The girl knew she spoke to one of the Chosen, and yet her tone remained frost." Later she tells Graendal that she leads Moghedien! Graendal also detects tha
t Cyndane is more powerful than her, which she thinks as "very rare... among women". Perhaps most indicative of the fact that Cyndane is something more than she appears is her name. We are told by Graendal that it means "Last Chance." I mean what kind of name is that? Only someone with a very sadistic sense of humor would name someone that. I've got the perfect candidate: The Dark One! Some simple deduction can tell us the true identity of Cyndane. We have already seen that the Dark One can and does bring back dead Forsaken. Now which of the female Forsaken is (1)very strong in the Power (2)extremely arrogant (3)dead? Lanfear! Well we don't know that she is dead, since she just fell through the twisted window. However here is my theory of what happened after that mishap. Lanfear and Moirane fall through the doorway and then, somehow Moiraine kills or engineers the death of Lanfear. She then is stuck there for some reason unknown. Lanfear's revenge? However I am pretty sure she is alive because
of other evidence. Some "prophecies" by Min refer to Moiraine as doing things that she has not yet done, and Min has never yet been wrong! The Dark One, in his peculiar sense of humor names Lanfear's new body Cyndane or "Last Chance" and turns her over Moridin!
